Welcome to the world of food trucks, where culinary treasures often await those willing to explore! Today, I’m delighted to introduce you to Bangkok99 Food Truck, an iconic gem parked at 13001 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA. Despite its unassuming location next to a gas station, this delightful truck is garnering rave reviews for its vibrant Thai menu, expertly crafted by a friendly and efficient one-man show.

Bangkok99 Food Truck specializes in authentic Thai noodles and offers a plethora of flavorful options to satisfy any palate. Their main menu is a true testament to the rich and savory world of Thai cuisine. Among the highlights are:

  • Pad Ka Pow: Ground chicken stir-fried with garlic, chili, and fragrant basil leaves - a staple that beautifully brings the heat ($15.95).
  • Pad See Ew: Wide rice noodles tossed with garlic, egg, carrots, and Chinese broccoli, which adds a unique crunch to this classic dish ($15.95).
  • Bangkok Fried Rice: A delightful mix of egg, garlic, raisin, yellow curry powder, cashew nuts, onion, and fresh pineapple that dances on your taste buds ($15.95).
  • BBQ Chicken: Juicy chicken marinated in Thai herbs, paired perfectly with sweet chili sauce and cucumber for a refreshing bite ($13.95).

For those looking to start their meal on a delicious note, the appetizers are equally tempting. Options like Butter Fried Shrimp and Deep Fried Wonton are perfect for sharing (or for indulging solo!) and offer a delightful introduction to the meal ahead.

What shines brightly in the reviews is the personal touch from the owner, who greets customers with a warm smile and delivers their meals to waiting cars, ensuring that each dish is served fresh and hot. Patrons have praised the flavorful execution of the dishes, particularly noting the use of Chinese broccoli in their Pad See Ew, which adds a wonderful texture.

Many regulars, like Ronnie P. and Ciara L., have expressed their love for the savory flavors and reasonable pricing. The deliciousness of the Pad Thai has become a highlight, with many declaring it among the best in Seattle. The skillful balancing of flavors—with the perfect tanginess and sweetness in each dish—is a hallmark of Bangkok99’s artistry.

While the food truck is nestled in a less glamorous setting, diners are encouraged to look beyond the packaging and instead focus on the culinary experience that awaits. As Nelly S. pointed out, the food is indeed exceptional, and the dedication to perfectly cooked vegetables and balanced flavors makes every dish memorable.

Stopped by this food truck tucked in the corner while my car was being serviced. And was pleasantly surprised! The noodles were fresh, chicken was tasty & best part, they use Chinese broccoli for this popular dish! Not american broc. Prices were reasonable. They have multiple choices on their menu. Can't wait to go back & try them. It was a one man show. He was very pleasant, friendly & efficient. They fell 1 star shy bc there is nowhere to sit while waiting for your food to be made fresh. Have a few plastic chairs or adirondacks out there and guaranteed your customers will be happily sipping on a thai ice tea while they wait

This food truck is tucked right next to a gas station in a convenient commuter location on Lake City. I came and the friendliest man took my order. It took 7 minutes exactly for them to make it - just like he said! The pad thai was yummy. It was $12 plus tax and that's pretty average for pad thai around here. I'd come back if I was in the neighborhood!

An absolute favorite for Thai. Delicious food, nice portion sizes, and very sweet, friendly family team. Defined don't let the dingy location put you off. After ordering, you can wait in your car and they'll bring it out to you. 100% delicious and authentic.

Let's get the ambiance out of the way first: It's in the parking lot of a gas station in one of Lake City Way's less appealing areas. Don't let that dissuade you from dropping by to enjoy some of the best Thai food in Seattle. No complaints service-wise, the gentleman who took our order was courteous and friendly. On to the food. We ordered 4 items to try for for lunch. The common theme is perfectly cooked veggies, so forgive me for repeating that over and over. Here's what we had and notes we jotted down while enjoying: Pad See Ew: The Chinese broccoli is perfectly cooked, the noodles are flavorful, deeply savory and perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness. Spicy Noodles: Personal favorite for both of us. Hits on all notes. "Wow." Perfectly cooked veggies that still have body and crunch. Pad Thai: Some of the best pad thai I've had in Seattle. Really good balance of sour and sweet. Spicy Bamboo: Bamboo shoots and other veggies are perfectly cooked. We want to drink the sauce, wish there was more of it for the rice. 4 out of 4 great dishes, it seems you can't go wrong here.

Some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had! Unfortunately they are parked in the shell station which doesn't always feel super safe, but that's not their fault. Delicious food!

Visiting Seattle and seen this place was 5 minutes from my hotel and it did not disappoint. Got the pad thai, fried rice and fried shrimp. Noodles and veggies were cooked perfectly. Got a 2 out of 5 spice level and it was tolerable and just had my nose running a little but complemented the flavor of the food. Owner was very nice and friendly. Would definitely come again when visiting seattle

Phenomenal Thai food. I'm obsessed with the Ka Pow, I get it at least once a week. The owner/operator and his wife are also very nice and give out hot tea when it is cold outside.

I like spicy food and the three star is just about right. Had my nose going a little. Usually I order four or five star at other places.

I love this place! The food is very delicious and the people are very kind -- they treated me like family. The green tea was especially fun, it is bottled! The food truck is located in the parking lot of a gas station. We picked up the food and ate it at home. The spice is real tho, I picked 3 out of 5 and it had me like

I got a pro tip a while back that my formerly beloved Phayathai is no longer owned/managed by the folks who previously ran it, and that the Bangkok99 Food Truck was their new spot. I *FINALLY* got to try this food truck yesterday and YES, this is it, follks. I had been having a rough time lately finding Pad Thai with any evidence of some char, which is pretty important for me. Bangkok99's 5* Chicken Pad Thai had the PERFECT amount of char, I could have cried tears of joy. Also, a lot of Thai places lately have been omitting the lime slice, but you won't find that shortcut here. These little things are SO important to the integrity of the dish, especially since Pad Thai is one of my favorite foods. My only constructive criticism is that I wished I taste a taaad more tamarind flavor overall, but it's still excellent. The crab rangoon is the same as they used to serve in the Phayathai olden glory days--and actually tastes like crab/krab instead of being all cream cheese. My tell tale sign of a good Pad See Ew is when they actually use Chinese Broccoli instead of regular, and yes, Bangkok99's has Chinese Broccoli. It also featured the perfect amount of char. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!
